Born April 30 , 1949 inn Santa Barbara, California
Studied film, art and music (Antioch College, Ohio).
Commercial fisherman, lived with the Mazatec Indigenous People, Oaxaca, Mexico.
1972: Physics, geophysic, ETH Zürich.
1985-1998: PhD in geophysics, teacher and researcher at the ETH Zürich.
2000-2010: Caretaker and coach, young adults on the autistic spectrum.
2010-continuing: professional guide, multi-day hikes in the Alps teaching geology and plate tectonics, lecturer at the Senior Citizens University Lucerne, Switzerland, publisher with taotime Verlag.
